Exceptional 15th - 16th century sculpture, Kingdom of Sukhothai, Phitsanulok schools.
Seated on a small throne base over a shaped plinth, Buddha has his right hand lowered in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a closely clinging sanghati with a sash draped across the left shoulder, his face with a benign expression flanked by long pendulous earlobes.
A beautiful excavation patina with remains of gold lacquer.
The details are still clearly visible and very fine.A unique piece for collectors.
