This sculpture is made with great finesse.  Carved from wood with remarkable work for its beautiful proportions and details. The facial features are meticulous. Buddha in Abhaya Mudra position from the left, symbolic gesture to dispel fear. Sanskrit word meaning "peace, protection".
Beautiful red lacquered color and finished with gold leaf.
Still completely golden on the face.
 
Fair condition overall. Some cracks due to age.
