2 Ghanta from the Khmer Empire dating from the 11th / 13th century.

 

Bells used by priests and ascetics during this period.

The Ghanta was made in 3 pieces. The bell, the upper part in the shape of a vajra, and the clapper.

The 5 points of the upper part represent the 5 points of Mount Meru of the Hindu and Buddhist sacred texts.
